Painting
Welcome to my paint lab. As soon as I secure the physical space I need, I will start-up my series of huge
paintings. I enjoy the experience of an image or pattern on a mass scale or at least in abundance. I think I am
attracted to the nature of everything.

You can find me at the enchanted art and craft shop- spirits and elements.
Odds and Ends
The painting on the left was actually produced with
brushes; it was the first time I used brushes in maybe
10 years. It was kind of my comeback using common
artist tools. Now I alternate between techniques but
still favor using my hands and objects. This took a
couple of weeks to paint, a few hours every day after
work. It was a ton of fun.
This painting on the left was produced a few weeks
after the one above it, and I went right back to my
hands, putting zip-lock bags over my hands and slabbing
paint onto the canvas.

I increased the canvas size under the belief that more
things could happen, sometimes simply because there
was more space to have an object repeat its pattern or
run its course. In theory, I would paint to the size of
my environment capacity, which means, if I had more
space, I would go larger. If I had 40' x 40', I would
paint that size etc.
Oil on canvas, 9'x4'5”, 2005, using various size
brushes, mild amount of paint thinner.
The clear lines creating a border/cube grid are in fact
an absence of pain by using tape.
Once tape is applied, I then individually painted each
cube. Once finished, I peeled the tape off.
I purposely treated my sessions of painting this piece as
a time of relaxation and unwinding after work, spending
my late afternoons and evenings.
I predominantly use oil paints. I first started painting during the 11th year of high school, that would be
around 18 years ago, small canvas with paint brushes. Over regular intervals of time, I increased the
canvas size and started to experiment with methods of applying the paint, which led to my abstract styles.
Then I stopped using brushes and simply applied the paint to my hands or to an object, these were now my
brushes and tools of the trade.

Oil on canvas, 10'x5', 2005, very little paint thinner,
hand painted with plastic ZipLoc bags on my hands.
The goal was to apply the paint and glide off the
canvas rather than pull off fast, this way there would
be less texture to each painted stroke.
This took a few hours during one afternoon.
